How to start learning programming in Egypt in 2026, even from zero

If you want to get into programming but don't know where to start, this guide is for you. Plain words, no jargon.

What is programming, really?

Programming means writing clear steps for a computer to follow. Every app on your phone and every website you open was made this way.

You don't need to be good at maths to start. You need patience and a little hands-on practice every day.

First, pick what you want to make

Programming isn't one thing. There are four popular paths, and each is different work:

  • Phone apps: apps like the ones on your phone, for Android and iPhone at once. The best-known tool is Flutter.
  • Websites (front end): the pages people see and tap in the browser. The best-known tool is React.
  • The system behind apps (back end): the part that stores accounts, orders and payments, such as Laravel, Node.js and .NET.
  • Data analysis: working with Excel and numbers and turning them into reports that help a company decide.

Still not sure? Try before you decide

Most people pick a track because a friend did, then find out two months later they don't enjoy it. It's better to try each one hands-on first.

That's why we made the Starter course: 4 sessions where you build a small phone app and a small website and try AI, and at the end we tell you which field suits you and give you a plan for your first month.

What do you need to start?

  • A laptop is best, and any laptop works at first, even an old one.
  • No laptop? At the start you can learn on a tablet or iPad with tools that open in the browser.
  • An hour or two a day beats ten hours once a week.
  • Basic English is enough. Most of our teaching is in Egyptian Arabic.

Learn alone on YouTube or take a course?

YouTube is free and has good material, but it's hard to know where to start or what comes next, and nobody corrects your mistakes.

A live course gives you a clear order, an instructor who answers your questions, classmates to work with, and a real project at the end to apply for jobs with.

Next step

If you're still unsure, start with Starter. If you already know what you want, open the courses page and pick your field.

Questions people ask

Can I learn programming with no background?

Yes. Our beginner courses start from zero; you don't need a computer science degree or to be good at maths.

Should I start with phone apps or websites?

If you like seeing your work on your phone, start with phone apps (Flutter). If you like websites and design, start with React. If you don't know, try both in the Starter course.

Are the courses in person or online?

Both. In person at AXIS Workspace in Heliopolis, or live online from home, and every session is recorded.

How much do the courses cost?

Starter is 1,000 EGP for 4 sessions. Full programming tracks (60 live hours) have their price on each course page, with installments available.
